Storm

In 1991, Toy Biz launched The Uncanny X-Men toy line--a year before the much-beloved X-Men Animated Series. The original wave ran for seven series until 1994. And out of that line spun numerous other ones like X-Force, X-Men 2099, New Mutants and more. Hasbro has the X-Men license now, and to celebrate Marvel's 80th anniversary, there is a new line of X-Men toys in Toy Biz's classic packaging.

Hasbro sent us the complete line to check out, and honestly, I don't want to take these out of the box because it reminds me of the toys I had as a kid. Obviously, the Hasbro run of these X-Men figures is a lot different from what was originally released by Toy Biz. First, these are all Marvel Legends scaled figures with plenty of articulation and extra accessories. Secondly, most Toy Biz figures came with a gimmick, like Cyclops' visor lighting up or Mr. Sinister's chest-diamond lighting up or Storm's lightning bolt on her costume lighting up. Hasbro traded in the gimmicks for accessories and posability, but the packaging looks the same.

The X-Men Retro Legends line all cost $20 each, and they will be available in stores this October. Let's take a closer look at this new set.

Back card (Storm)

This will be the only time we'll take a look at the back card of one of these figures. You have an outline drawing of Storm and a bio below. And on the right-hand side, there are images of other characters in the set.

Storm comes with two lightning accessories you can attach to her arms.

Iceman

No where on the package is it mentioned as to whether or not Iceman will change colors if you put him in the freezer.

The figure comes with an Ice Slide he can stand on. Sure, he's a basic figure, but there is still some good detail in his face.

Cyclops

This may be one of the best figures in the lot. I can't really tell though because I refuse to open it. This costume is based on the character's look during his time in X-Factor.

He comes with two heads and an optic blast that attaches to the angry one.

Wolverine

This Wolverine costume comes from the 1988 series, which started with Wolverine in Japan, fighting Silver Samurai.

The figure comes with the Muramasa Blade and two hands without claws.

Sadly, unlike his Toy Biz counterpart, the helmet doesn't seem to come off. Again, I refuse to open this, so I can't be 100% sure.

The figure comes with two katanas, which can be sheathed in his belt.

Dazzler

Finally, there is Dazzler in her brown leather jacket and sweet heandband.

She comes with her accessories that fit around her wrists to simulate her powers.
