Time for some retro robots and witchcraft.
The MCU's Phase 4 will be made up of more than just movies. The upcoming Disney+ streaming service is going to be home to a new slate of original TV shows all set within the shared Marvel Cinematic Universe that will actually go on to inform the events that play out on the big screen--and while we're going to be waiting a bit longer for these than we will movies like Black Widow, they're still fast approaching.
One of the more mysterious Disney+ MCU projects has to be WandaVision, a bizarre, retro-flavored exploration of Scarlet Witch and Vision--who, yeah, definitely died in Avengers: Infinity War and never came back. Something apparently resurrected him (Wanda's "magic" perhaps?) and now the two of them--along with a grown-up Monica Rambeau, the little girl from Captain Marvel--will be doing, well, something. We honestly don't know what the plot will be just yet, but rest assured, it's going to be pretty weird.
We've taken the time to gather up what we've been given here for you as we prepare for Disney+'s official launch and the newest era of the MCU.
Your favorite Avengers coming back
Like the rest of the MCU Disney+ shows, WandaVision will include all the familiar faces from the big screen, plus some new ones. So far, our confirmed cast for this show is:

It'll be on Disney+--but not at launch
WandaVision won't be hitting the streaming service until Spring 2021, roughly around the time the Loki Disney+ show launches, but after Shang-Chi, Eternals, and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier. So there's obviously plenty of time to prepare and/or cook up some really wild conspiracy theories.
Yes, Vision is alive again, somehow
No real details regarding how or why his particular resurrection happens have surfaced just yet, but yes, Paul Bettany will be reprising his role as Vision--one of the few heroes who remained decidedly dead after that Infinity War scene. But, given that he's not actually a human, and given that this is a superhero TV show, there is absolutely no shortage of ways Vision could be making a return, so start revving up those theory engines now.
Monica Rambeau is all grown up
Remember the adorable Monica "Lt. Trouble" Rambeau from Captain Marvel? She was Maria's daughter and Carol's friend back in the 90s. Well, now she's an adult, and apparently, on a collision course with the weird and wonderful world of superheroics all over again.
Assuming WandaVision takes place after Avengers: Endgame in 2023--or perhaps 2025, given its 2021 release date--and the fact that Monica was 11 back in 1995, she ought to be in her early 40s or late 30s. However, Teyonah Parris is only 31, which could potentially indicate either some time-space weirdness (this is a show about Scarlet Witch, remember) or possibly something else entirely that may or may not connect Monica with any number of weird cosmic shenanigans. Over in the comics, Monica has superpowers of her own--she was even Captain Marvel for a time--so anything is possible.
The logo and music are decidedly vintage
As previously mentioned, the specifics of this one are vague--we don't have much information as to the plot or the set up just yet, but a logo has been release along with some music and it's all decidedly retro. The branding for WandaVision seems to indicate that the show will either take place in, or have something to do with that sort of eerie 1950s sitcom-style full of bulky CRT TVs, rabbit ear antennas, and buzzing neon signs.
Is this an indication that it's going to be borrowing some ideas from the recent Tom King and Gabriel Walta Vision comic book series? We certainly hope so.
It's going to be "really weird."
If you're confused about what WandaVision could be, don't worry, you're not alone. Even Paul Bettany is a little lost on this one. During the Hall H panel, he confessed that he's "never been more confused in front of so many people."
It's going to tie into Dr. Strange and The Multiverse of Madness
Kevin Feige announced at SDCC that WandaVision would officially tie into the second Doctor Strange movie, which would feature Elizabeth Olsen reprising Wanda Maximoff as well as Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange. Marvel Studios has talked at length about the relationship between the shows on Disney+ and the future of the MCU on the big screen, but this is the first time we've had any official confirmation as to just how or when we'll see that taking place.
